🐾 Animal Park FAQs

We’re excited to welcome you to Bailiwick Animal Park! Below are answers to some of our most commonly asked questions to help you plan your visit.

If you don’t see your question here, please contact us directly.

πŸ“ How large is the park?

Bailiwick Animal Park is a boutique, walkable animal park situated on approximately 2–3 acres, featuring over 25 exhibits.

Our size allows for an intimate, up-close experience where guests can take their time and truly connect with the animals without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.

Most visits last approximately 1–2 hours, depending on pace and engagement.

🏑 Is Bailiwick a city or state-run zoo?

No. Bailiwick Animal Park is privately owned and family-operated.

We are not city or state funded. Every visit directly supports the daily care, feeding, habitat maintenance, and veterinary needs of the animals who call Bailiwick home.

We appreciate your support of local, family-run operations.

πŸ•’ What are your hours?

Our Animal Park operates seasonally, typically April through October.

Please visit our Tickets, Hours & Park Info page for current operating hours and seasonal announcements.

πŸ’΅ What forms of payment do you accept?

We are cash only on-site.

An ATM is available on the property for your convenience.

🎟 Do I need tickets in advance?

Tickets are available for purchase at the gate during regular operating hours.

Some special events may require advance tickets. Please check our events page for details.

πŸ” Can we leave and come back the same day?

Yes! We offer same-day re-entry. Guests will receive a hand stamp upon entry.

Please be sure to get stamped before exiting the park.

🐐 Can we feed the animals?

Yes! Many of our friendly farm animals β€” including goats, sheep, alpacas, camels, and more β€” enjoy being fed.

Animal feed cups are available for purchase at the park.

For the safety and health of our animals, outside food is not permitted for feeding.

🐾 Can we pet the animals?

Some animals may be gently interacted with in designated areas. However, not all animals are available for petting.

Please follow posted signage and staff instructions at all times.

🐢 Are pets allowed?

For the safety of our animals and guests, outside pets are not permitted inside the park.

Only trained service animals assisting individuals with disabilities are permitted. Emotional support animals and therapy animals are not allowed.

Approved service animals must remain under control at all times and may be asked to maintain distance from certain exhibits for the safety of both animals and guests.

🌦 What happens if it rains?

The park remains open during light rain.

However:

β€’ Some animals may not be visible during extreme weather conditions for their comfort and safety.
β€’ We do not offer refunds due to weather.
β€’ In the case of severe weather, we may close early or close for the day.

For the most up-to-date weather closures, please check our social media pages before visiting.

πŸ… Are all animals always visible?

Animal visibility may vary based on weather, enrichment schedules, and individual preferences.

Summer months typically provide the best opportunity to see the widest variety of animals. Spring and fall visits often offer cooler temperatures, when many animals are more active.

Our animals’ health and comfort always come first.

❄️ Where do the animals go in the winter?

Some of our animals move to larger winter pastures, some remain active outdoors and enjoy the colder weather, and others are housed in heated barn facilities during the winter months.

Seasonal care varies by species to ensure each animal’s comfort and well-being.

⏱ How long does a typical visit take?

Most guests spend 1–2 hours exploring the park.

Because we are a smaller, walkable park, families can enjoy a relaxed visit without feeling rushed.

🌳 Is the park shaded?

Yes. Much of the park offers natural shade, making summer visits comfortable for families.

We still recommend sunscreen and hydration during warmer days.

πŸ‘Ά Is the park good for young children?

Yes! The park is family-friendly and designed for guests of all ages.

We also have a small playground area for children to enjoy during their visit.

β™Ώ Is the park wheelchair accessible?

The park is not paved and consists primarily of hard-packed dirt pathways, some of which include small hills.

Guests with wheelchairs regularly visit successfully, but terrain may vary.

We do not currently offer wheelchair or stroller rentals.

Yes.

Main restrooms are located directly in front of the gift shop/office before entering the park.

A portable restroom is also located inside the park for convenience.
