Volunteer Opportunities

Bailiwick Animal Park welcomes responsible, motivated individuals who want to contribute to a hands-on, outdoor environment.

As a family-owned and operated park, our volunteers assist primarily during our operating season (April–October), with occasional off-season opportunities available.

Volunteering at Bailiwick is active, physical, and often outdoors in varying weather conditions. It is a meaningful way to support animal care and park operations while gaining real-world experience.

What Volunteers May Assist With

• Grounds maintenance and general property upkeep
• Preparing enrichment items
• Assisting with domestic farm animal care (goats, sheep, alpacas, etc.)
• Event support and seasonal setup
• Playground and public area upkeep
• Basic facility projects

For safety and liability reasons, volunteers do not work directly with exotic species (tiger, bear, etc.).

Age Requirements

• Ages 16+ may volunteer independently
• Ages 14–15 may volunteer with a parent/guardian present
• All volunteers under 18 must have signed parental consent

Community Service Hours

We welcome students seeking school-related community service hours and may accept court-ordered service on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us prior to applying.

Commitment Options

We offer:

• Weekly volunteer opportunities
• Flexible “when available” scheduling
• Event-specific volunteer days
• Group volunteer opportunities (schools, clubs, businesses)

Expectations

Volunteering is hands-on and may include lifting, cleaning, outdoor work, and assisting with daily park operations. It is not a behind-the-scenes animal encounter program.

We look for individuals who are:

• Reliable
• Punctual
• Respectful of animals and guests
• Willing to learn and work as part of a team
