Trail Riding at Bailiwick

Experience guided scenic mountain trail rides through our private 300-acre property at the foot of the Catskill Mountains. Our trails wind through old forests, open fields, and offer beautiful views of the Hudson Valley. Perfect for first timers and seasoned riders alike.

Come take a ride on a well-trained mount, led by an experienced & friendly trail guide. We provide horses for every level of rider. Special attention to beginners. We are able to accommodate large groups & offer picnicking & ample free parking.

Pony rides & Hand-led horse rides

  • Pony Rides $10 (ages 6 and under) A short, hand-led ride around our barn area on a pony.

  • Hand-led Ride on a Horse $15 (ages 7 or older that are not quite ready to ride on their own) A short, hand-led ride around the barn area on a horse.

    ALL RIDES GUIDED

  • 30-Minute Intro Ride - $60 A Short ride for those short on time, perfect for beginners.

  • 1-Hour Scenic Trail Ride - $90 (most popular) Our standard experience - explore deeper into the woods and enjoy views of the Hudson Valley.

  • 90-Minute Extended Trail Ride - $140 A longer, more immersive ride for adventurous riders and seasoned guests.

Private Ride Upgrade - +$25 per person Prefer a private guide and experience? Upgrade to a private ride. (Great for couples, celebrations, and nervous riders.)

Important Ride Information

  • All rides are fully guided by our experienced trail guides.

  • No experience required.

  • ASTM/SEI approved helmets provided.

  • Riders must be 7 years or older to trail ride.

  • Weight limit is 220 lbs.

  • Close toed shoes required.

  • We are CASH ONLY but have an ATM on site.

  • Trails are subject to seasonal/weather conditions.

Booking information

Spring, Summer & Fall -

Open daily 10am to 5pm with last ticket sales at 4pm.

  • We operate primarily on a walk-in basis.

  • Trail rides run continuously throughout the day based on availability. The only reservable ride times are 10am & 10:30am.

  • All other rids are first come, first served.

  • Last ride goes out at 4pm. No ticket sales after 4pm.

Winter Season

  • Reservations are required.

  • Rides are scheduled based on weather and trail conditions.
